 Postdoc in Fisheries Science-2023-24

 Postdoc in Fisheries Science

About the Project :

Postdoc in marine proteins from underutilized sources

The Department of Life Sciences (LIFE) comprises four research departments, one of which is the Food and Nutrition Science (FNS) division. FNS tackles important socioeconomic issues pertaining to healthy eating, nutrition, and sustainable food production. With the goal of supplying fresh information and solutions that clear the path for a sustainable planet and healthy human populations, we carry out basic and practical research, innovation, teaching, and dissemination in the field of food and nutrition science. Food technology, chemistry, and molecular and data-driven nutrition (precision nutrition) are among the research areas covered. In the field of food science, our primary focus is on marine and plant-based food systems. To support these systems, we create instruments and procedures that minimise losses across the value chain, enhance food quality, and enable the recovery of nutrients from alternative biomasses. In order to comprehend and forecast the role of foods, dietary components, and dietary patterns in human health, we concentrate on human observational and intervention studies as well as cell-based model studies in the field of nutrition. We also use cutting edge data-driven approaches and state-of-the-art biochemical and OMICs technologies. International themes of global food security are also relevant to the research.

Qualifications:

A doctorate in bioscience, food science, biochemical engineering, biotechnology, biochemistry, or a related field must be awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline. You must also be fluent in writing and speaking English, possess strong communication and analytical skills, and have research experience working with seafood, seafood proteins, and volatile compound analyses.
